It's too easy to forget that men don't exactly get off Scott free when it comes to gender politics. I remember complaining to my fiance that even when I finish my PhD I'm going to be working in a job I hate just to earn a few extra dollars to be able to raise a few more kids than we could afford otherwise. He gave me a blank look and replied, "Yes, well, that's exactly what men have had to deal with for a few centuries now."
